MEDIA FORMULATIONS

JUNE 1999

Mycoplasma Experience media are issued in the following presentations:-

Contract Volumes

These are supplied as frozen liquid media or as separate supplement and agar volumes for preparing complete solid media.

Storage:

Liquid -

Frozen at -20ēC or -70ēC

Solid -

Supplement at -20ēC

2. Human, Clinical Mycoplasma Media - Solid and Liquid

Properties

Research quality isolation media for mycoplasma species of clinical importance including M. genitalium.

Presentation and Product Codes

As for 1. above.

3. Cell Culture Mycoplasma Media - Solid and Liquid

Properties

Validated with a wide range of cell-culture derived species including

M. hyorhinis cultivar a (formerly described as ‘non-cultivable’).

Presentation and Product Codes

As for 1. above.

4. Ureaplasma Media - Solid and Liquid

Properties

Isolation media for human and animal ureaplasmas. Both the liquid and solid media are diagnostic in giving a colour change from yellow to purple. The solid medium is particularly useful in developing a pink colouration under colonies which are easily visible at a magnification used to detect mycoplasma colonies.
